This paper, “Steppingstones: A Demonstration of Black Feminist, Literary Work on the Path to Public Scholarship,” is an active work-in-progress. It was originally written in December 2020, with the goal of being presented at this conference, Disruptions and Eruptions (26-27 February 2021) and also as a final paper for a Black feminist and womanist theory course. It has been posted here exactly as it was submitted at the end of that course. This is not to imply that it is ready for formal publication, but rather to serve as an example of this blog’s mission to engage in the ongoing, imperfect process that is fully public, accessible scholarship.
